Being responsible for all the students made me feel like a father. Securing funding and sponsorship was challenging. Perfecting operations and logistics was a must.
Responsible for 15 Students
It was a rewarding experience to lead the group we took to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. They havn't been in an Arab country before, so explaining everything was a must. Being responsible for their day to day life made me feel like a father sheparding his kids around. Great feeling!
Funding & Sponsorship
We needed to raise money to make the trip happen. That meant knocking on a lot of doors to cover the rojected budget. We went to different offices around University of Michigan that would care to sponsor us. Some of the companies we visited ended up footing the bill for our hotel stays.
Operations & Logistics
The trip had plenty of logistical matters to be dealt with. We secured the Visas for the students and the flight bookings so that all of us travel together. In the UAE, we had to coordinate transportation from different companies. Everything had to work smoothly, otherwise we'd miss a visit or an activity in our tightly planned schedule.
